Hello,
Anyone working on New Jersey Johnstons? Here's what I know:
Samuel Harmon JOHNSTON (b. ?; d. sometime around 1870); was a Methodist
minister in the South Jersey conference and later became a doctor in
Berlin, NJ. Married Lavina Leech; had two known children, Clarence
Maitland JOHNSTON and Grace Dorothy JOHNSTON (Fitzgerald).
Clarence Maitland JOHNSTON was born in Berlin, November 9, about 1875; (was
born Clarence McClellan but changed it.) He lived in Red Bank, NJ, entered
the ministry in 1903, served at Fort Hancock, Whitesville, Keyport,
Trenton, Camden, Absecon, and Bridgeton. Married Mary "Mae" E. Dobbins on
April 20, 1904; had two children, (Clarence) Haines JOHNSTON (b. September
16, 1906) and Lewis Maitland JOHNSTON (b. March 19, 1905)
Any additional info or connections gratefully recieved!
Regards,
Kathleen Ernst
