Quakers were disowned for a wide variety of reasons, one was *taking up
arms* i.e. fighting or helping the Revolutionary cause...another was
marrying out of *unity*...

Thanks Ann and Charlotte...So I'm wondering if there isn't some simmering,
long standing issues, undercurrents, politics here. My Hadleys in NC
divided
badly over the Rev. War (PA/NJ).
Also more to the point...were they successful in the efforts. I think I'll
try to find out.
Curiosity may have killed the cat, but in my case it kills full night's
