Hi Delores - you can go to my web site at http://www.geocities.com/debjacks_2000/ ......scroll down a little and you will see two links to my pages concerning Bill Ryan and Thomas Lynch. I don't think I am kin to Bill Ryan unless he was Thomas Lynch - or Thomas Lynch used the name Bill Ryan. I figured since there's no Thomas Lynch listed with the James Gang, that Tom Lynch must have used an alias when he rode with him. Bill Ryan is the closest match to Tom Lynch out of all the outlaws I've researched. Tom Lynch used the name Ben Malloy when he came to NW Arkansas in 1889. He hid in a cave on Bear Creek for a while after he first came to Arkansas. Several years afterwards, he told family that his real name was Thomas Albert Lynch and that he had ridden with the Jesse James Gang for a 'short while'.
I remember reading a story years ago about a woman they called "Grandma Jackson" who one of the James family (I've forgotten who) used to share recipes with. Could that be the Jackson family you mentioned?
I love researching the outlaws - it took me 15 years to find Tom Lynch's parents! Let me know what you think about the photos. Debbie
