I am not necessarily seeking information on my Jenkins family. I'm not
entirely sure I want more data than I have now, but maybe I could help
someone on a particular line of Jenkins.
My Jenkins line starts with WILLIAM JENKINS born about 1675. He married
ELIZABETH SKELDERMAN abut 1698 in Old Rappahannock County, Virginia. He
died in 1720 in Richmond County, Virginia.
My second generation direct line is MANSFIELD JENKINS born about 1708 in
Richmond County, VA. He married a Patience about 1732 in Virginia.
MANSFIELD died in 1755 in Richmond Co. VA.
The third generation direct line is JAMES (JIMMY) JENKIN born about
1736 in Virginia. He married MARTHA (PATTY) CRASK in about 1760 in
Richmond County, VA. JAMES died in 1790 in Granville County, NC.
The fourth generation direct line is WILSON JENKINS born 1765 in
Granville County, VA.WILSON married twice, first some time after 1801 to
LUCY TALLY PEACE. They had five known children. WILSON married 2nd time
before 1820 in Smith County, Tennessee to ANNA (ANN) MOORE. She was the
daughter of Thomas Moore and Patsy Smith. WILSON died in July 1830 in
Smith County.
The fifth generation includes three sons, the first, JOHN (JACK) TUGGLE
JENKINS born 5 September 1820 in Smith County, Tennessee. He married
Mildred Frances Williams, daughter of William Williams and Frances
Marion Burford. JOHN moved to Texas in early 1870's and settled in
Collin County. Some of the names connected with his descendants are:
Coleman, Taylor, Richards and StClair.
