Leonard Ivester

Mr. Leonard Ivester, age 74, of Albany died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at his
residence.
Mr. Ivester was born July 10, 1928, in Tifton. He was retired as an
industrial maintenance technician and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church in
Bainbridge.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Morningside Baptist
Church with the Revs. Austin Phillips, Andy Bryan, Mike Lawson and Leon
VanLandingham officiating. Interment followed in Oak City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gene Coburn, Tom Hicks, Bob Coburn, Jones Bolton, Bill
Hughes and Bobby Parrish.
Honorary pallbearers were Dewey Robinson, Bobby Evans, Don Kell, Larry Rice,
Winston Brock, Tommy Wheeler, Marvin Hall, and James Matthews.
Survivors include his wife, Vonnie Dollar Ivester; and one daughter, Jill
Smithers, Atlanta.
Cox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Smith, Perry ‘Ray’ Jr.
Funeral services for Perry “Ray” Smith Jr., 40, of Alto will be held at 2
p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Rev. Clyde
Garrison, the Rev. Jimmy Palmer and the Rev. Perry Smith will officiate, with
burial in Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Smith died Monday, Jan.
20, 2003, at Habersham County Medical Center. Born in Hall County on July 23,
1962, he was a mechanic and a member of Silver Shoals Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Perry Ray Sr. and Margaret Ivester Smith of Alto;
daughter, Scarlett Standridge of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Jessie Ann and
Chuck Gilliland of Alto; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Amos and Michelle
Smith of Banks County, John and Mary Ann Smith of Banks County. The family
will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today, Jan. 21, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation. Whitfield Funeral Home,
South Chapel, Baldwin is in charge of arrangements.

VALE — Lindsay Cicero Davidson, 71, of 5508 Hwy. 27 West, died March 25,
2003. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Goodin-Drum Funeral Home
Chapel. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the
funeral home.

Born in Alexander County, he was a Quality Frame Company rip saw operator and
was a member of Rocky Face Baptist Church in Alexander County.

Survivors include his wife Pauline Ivester Davidson; three sons, Paul
Davidson of Lincolnton, David Davidson of Cherryville, and Joe Davidson of Vale; a
daughter, Ruth Self of Cherryville; three brothers, Tommy Davidson of
Taylorsville, Lloyd Davidson of Statesville, and Michael Davidson of San Antonio, Texas;
three sisters, Mertie Warren Hartness of Taylorsville, Lizzie Bentley of N.
Wilkesboro, and Hazel Brown of Hiddenite; six grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
