Hi: My Aunt Dorothy Josephine DeSimone was born in Toronto on Aug. 18, 1909. My grandparents split up and Dorothy went to private school in Buffalo (I don't know what school she went to but my dad (Gordon Laurance Wilson b. Toronto on July 25, 1913) also went to private school in Buffalo. My dad returned to Canada but Dorothy didn't.

Dorothy married a Frank DeSimone in c. 1931. When Dorothy's mom died in 1937 Dorothy came to Hamilton, Ont., Canada for the funeral and signed the book as: Mrs. Frank DeSimone - 54 1/2 High Street.

I am quite sure I found Dorothy Wilson on the 1930 Manhattan census studying nursing at St. Mary's Hospital so I would presume she met Frank in Manhattan.

My mother told me Dorothy died before I was born (I was born in 1948) and before she met my dad - my mom was my father's second wife. So she doesn't know much about dad's sister.

I know she died in the winter because my mom told me the weather was really bad when my dad went down to the funeral. She also said the roads weren't good in those days.
