My Morris HIGHLAND came to America via NY in 1837, according to his
declaration of intent, but I found him in Pittsfield, Berkshire Co., MA. By 1850 he
moved to Illinois. Being that I found in in MA I thought he would of come to the
USA via Boston's port. I have more to do.

I have not been able to find him on any passenger manifest. Where did your
ancestor settle in the USA?

I have read that people from Westmeath sometimes went to Liverpool for
passage to America.

Also, besides NY, New Orleans was a major port of entry in that time period.
