Hello all

I am new to the list and hope that someone may be able to assist me.

My gt.grand parents, Catherine Feely and William Elliston, were married in 1847 at St. Brendan's RC Church (Diocese of Killaloe), Birr, King's County (Co Offally). William was in the 85th Foot Regiment, and in 1878 he migrated to Sydney, Australia with Catherine and their three children.

Catherine died in 1907 at Newcastle NSW, and her death certificate gives her father's name as Patrick Feely. Anne Feely was a witness at William & Catherine's wedding, so I wonder whether she may be been Catherine's sister. Unfortunately, I don't know when or where Catherine was born or baptised or her mother's name.

I would be pleased to hear from anyone who has any connections with the Feely surname or can advise me where I may be able to obtain further information.
