Check out "Cook County Vital Records Indexes Online" dated July 8 on the
Rootsweb Cook County message boards. Donna

A tidbit of info I learned while pounding around on the Cook County site.

Cathy says the marriages aren't useful, as she knows only that her Ann Jones

married John Smith about 1925...but she doesn't know which of the many Ann
Jones might
be hers.

If you do find multiple entries with one name, jot down the certificate
numbers and the years.
Then back out to the search page, remove the names, and search on the
certificate number and the year.
Voila', both parties to the marriage will come up, both tied to that same
certificate number.

Of course, that won't work for births or deaths, but at least it's a crumb
of help!
