I have the death certificates for two of my great uncles. Both list their parents as John Fleming, and Mary Butler. Both are listed as being from County Limerick, Ireland. My grandfathers death certificate just lists parents names, John Fleming & Mary Butler with no country listed. Also Mary Butler Fleming's obit in the Chicago Tribune said she was from Maulleen, County Limerick, Ireland.
My dad told me that Mary Butler's family had a RC Bishop in it. I checked various Irish sites and found a George Butler was the Bishop of County Limerick. He died in 1886. A priest in County Limerick sent me a copy of a page which looks to be some sort of encyclopedia with a picture of Bishop George Butler and his autobiography. He looked just like MY DAD...whose name happens to be George! I have been trying to prove that Bishop George Butler is related but I haven't been able to.
Thank you for your time, Tom.
