My Ethel Heeney married a (Francis McMahon) between 1910 and 1915 and produced three children (Patricia, Francis and Joseph).? They live?at 710 N. Ridgeway and ?attended St. Mel's. Do you have a Francis McMahon in your family? Thanks.

I have some Egan relations that I've been hunting and picking for. I can
recall the two daughters writing my grandfather. They were Sisters of
Mercy. Other names in this family is McMahon and Rice (they are related to
me via the McMahon side). Does this tie into anyone's research out there?

died of a heart attack in her home at 5046 Adams street yesterday. She was
53 years old. Mrs. Rice was born in Ireland, and had lived in Chicago 40
years. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters and a son. Services
will be held in the Resurrection Catholic church at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial
will be in All Saints cemetery.

Michael J. Rice, 64, a police sergeant who retired last year after 38 years
on the force, died yesterday in St. Anne's hospital of a head wound suffered
Monday when he shot himself while cleaning a gun belonging to his son,
James, a policeman at the Fillmore station. A coroner's jury returned a
verdict of accidental death. Rice lived at 5046 Adams st. He also is
survived by two daughters. Services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in
Resurrection Catholic church, 5082 Jackson blvd.

POLICE WINNER OF HERO AWARD IN 1921 DIES AT 73

Maurice J. McNamara, 73, of 523 S. Lockwood av., who was police sergeant
when he retired in 1944 from the Central station, died yesterday in St.
Anne's hospital.

McNamara won the Tribune $100 hero award in 1921 for the capture of an armed
robber near Monroe and Franklin sts. In 1937, he led a detail of 46 Chicago
policemen to Louisville, Ky., for policing and rescue work during the flood.
He was a policeman for 30 years.

Surviving are his daughter, Marion, a teacher in the Lowell school, 3320
Hirsch st., and a brother Eugene. Requiem mass will be said at 11 a.m.
Wednesday in Resurrection church.
