The Mormon Family History Center at Naperville has a fairly complete set of
films for Chicago Archdiocesan Records and a scanner -- take a thumb or
travel drive with you and you can scan the records for review and printing at home.

For information on the location and hours go to familysearch.org and scroll
down to the middle left of the page for the box labeled "Find a Family History
Center Near Your Home," enter a state and follow the prompts. Call to
check if the film # you want is available. The film number can be located under
the tab, Library, then Library Catalog. Search by Place "Chicago (tab)
Illinois" -- then scroll down to "churches." There are multiple pages and they
are not in alphabetical order. When you have the correct church, click the
tab for "Film notes" -- that will list the holdings by film number and what is
covered. Always note the Item Numbers listed so you can speed through the
films to the section you want.

If the center has the film on extended loan, there is no charge to use it
there. If no center has it, then you can order it from a center near you for
$5.75 for a month, renew for 2 more months for $5.50.

Good luck.

Margaret
