Many of my relatives ended up in or around Englewood. My Walsh rellies started in Hastings, IL., a little hamlet along the I & M Canal that was eventually incorporated into Lemont (as far as I can tell). However, they ended up at 66th & Throop.
The O'Tooles were at 71st and Loomis (1458 W. 71st) in 1920. By 1930, great grandma had moved to 8053 S. Carpenter.
In 1910, the Kerrs were down around 18th & Clark. By 1920, they had moved to 6617 S. Bishop. Grandpa Pete changed the surname to Karr and in 1930 he was living with my father and his siblings at 7851 S. Loomis. However, great grandma Kerr was living at 3547 S. Emerald with her daughter, my grandaunt Rose Bunyan.
The McDermotts, in 1900, lived at 940 52nd St. In 1910, it looks like they had moved to 63rd St, but it is difficult to read. In 1920, the family had moved to 6640 S. Robey St (now Damen Ave.).
The Ledwells and Morrisseys were westsiders, I think. It is difficult to read the 1880 census. In 1900, they are on Center Avenue. I don't recall a Center Avenue.
