FYI: You can also order LDS films through the Newberry Library here in Chicago. Many of the Mormon Family History Centers in and around the Chicago area have many of the church films in their permanent collection.............Wilmette FHC is well stocked!

Try the LDS site,, -- they got permission to microfilm or
got copies of the Archdiocese microfilms for records to 1916. After you get
tot he site, click on the tab for Library, then Library Catalog, then click on
Place Search. Type "Chicago" and "Illinois" in the boxes. This will bring
you to a listing of items for Chicago, choose Church Records. You will have
to page through the list, as it is not alphabetized. You can order the
films from your nearest LDS Family History Center (get that info from a link on
the home page of the site). Cost about $5.75 for one month -- films take from
4-6 weeks to get.
