My mother skated at the White City Roller Rink in the 30's and '40's -- I
grew up hearing about White City, too -- mom was in some type of skating club
there and her 'logo' was Brenda Starr (I guess each of them chose a comic strip
character). I remember mom's well-worn skates and the skate case with Brenda
Starr comic strips glued inside and out.
