Have you tried to find to find your Brazills or Masons in the State of
Illinois online database?

There are listings of marriages into the 1890s, and death certificate
information through about 1950.

Certificates can be obtained online. That info is on the state of Illinois
website also.

I tried to check the database for you, but there is a processing problem
this afternoon.

There are some "sort of spelled like" Brazills in Chicago in the 1880 cencus
as found in the LDS Family Searcfh website.
