JUst remember about the 1909 street name change!
the house numbers that are listed on some of the Baptisms for St Mels HAVE BEEN CHANGED.
SOME of these buildings are STILL THERE.
Always be careful when traveling.

Linda - thank you for your post. I would love to do some on-site Chicago
research, but haven't done so yet.

Do you know the corner address for the original St. Mel's? I think it
was on Washington Blvd(?), but at what intersection? I'm trying to get
some old street maps to help me pinpoint all the places my BURKES and
DUSHANES lived, the current city map is useful, but I wanted more detail
on the 1880-1900 era.
