Am searching following families:

SCANLAN: Katherine ROCHE SCANLAN (widow of Mortimer SCANLAN who died in
Limerick), emigrated to Chicago abt. 1848 with children (some adult) with
following children:

Mary (DOB 1823 Limerick - DOD 1889 Chicago), married David MCQUAID (DOD abt.
1879 in Chicago) in Ireland, had 8 children one of whom married U.S.
Congressman Frank LAWLER, who was brother of her Aunt, Teresa LAWLER SCANLAN
(see below);

Katherine, born Limerick, married Gerry SULLIVAN in Chicago;

John F. (DOB 1/1/1839 Limerick) married Teresa Marie LAWLER (daughter of
Joseph LAWLER (who moved to Chicago from Rochester, NY) sister of Thomas,
Joseph Jr., and Frank LAWLER, U.S. Congressman all of Chicago) in Chicago
1862, and had 8 children who survived to adulthood: Tone, Joseph, Mortimer,
James, Molly, Catherine Maude and Teresa (Mrs. J. E. HORTUBISE), all of
Chicago. John SCANLAN founded the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Mortimer (married widow Elizabeth CUNNINGHAM in Chicago);

Edward (DOB 1828 Limerick - DOD 1887 Chicago) married Ann HIGGINS, County
Cavan, about 1848 in Roxbury, Mass, prior to moving to Chicago abt. 1851, and
had several children only 2 of whom lived to adulthood: Edward H. (married
Elizabeth KELLY) and Frank T. (married Gertrude Evangaline MCMAHON). Ann
HIGGINS SCANLAN had brother, Frank HIGGINS and nephew Matthew HIGGINS in
Chicago.

Timothy (DOB abt. 1834 in Limerick - DOD aft 1887 in Chicago) married Hannah
MCMAHON (aunt of Gertrude MCMAHON above);

Michael (DOB 1836 Limerick - DOD 1917 Chicago), married Nell HOGAN in Chicago
and had 5 children: Planxty (married James FLEMING), Erin (unmarried),
Kickham (State Supreme Court Justice who married Sadie CONWAY), America (died
as young), and OONA (married Rene SAMSON, Frenchman, in Washington, DC).
