Debbie an Kathleen:

Many southsiders were buried at Calvary Cemetery, at least
in late 1800's and early 1900's. All of my family were
buried there from their residences around 35th & Halsted.
Maybe that cemetery was more accessible by the "cars" than
Mt. Olivet (another old one, on the south side) or other
cemeteries. I have other family buried at Mt. Olivet and
it was an all day trip to the funeral out there, according
to my father who attended many of them.
