I hate to appear so ignorant, but what is a "roll call"? Thanks for all the effort you put forth this weekend. I enjoyed reading ALL of them even though none of my family names were mentioned. Thanks for your help and assistance.

Subject: [IRELAND] Irish-American newspaper lookups over...please read
It is past 6pm here in rainy California and time for me to put away the
book and get back to work on other things. I bought this book last week
and found it so oozing with information, I just had to share it with you
all. I have used the Irish-American Newspaper films at Albany State
Library many times in the past, and have copied some articles from them
and passed them on to some of the lists I managed at the time. If you
get a chance to check out the newspaper, I fully recommend it. If you
are not in NY, you may be able to get the films on an interlibrary loan
but I can't swear to it.
Hopefully, you've read the ads, even if the lookups were not for one of
your names, because most ads included other surnames and yours many have
in one. Sadly, some lost patience with the lookups and we lost over 20
subscribers during the weekend. Hard to understand why they just
couldn't delete the messages and move on...hopefully, they will return.
A word to the wise. For St. Patrick's Day, I am planning to call a roll
call on the list. We are now nearing 700 members so the posts could
flood your mailbox, and you just might want to switch your subscription
from L (receiving each email) to D (getting them in group digests). You
can do so at: http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/IRL/IRELAND.html
First you will have to unsubscribe from the L subscription and then
subscribe to the D subscription. If you have any problems, please write
me off list for help. In the meantime, get your info together for our
first roll call in almost two years.
