I can shed a little more light on this. First, I believe that you are correct in the father's name (George Washington Edington). Martha's family group looks like this:

Children of GEORGE EDINGTON and MARY MANSFIELD are:
i.JOHN W.2 EDINGTON, b. Abt. 1848.
ii.FRANCIS M. EDINGTON, b. Abt. 1851; m. DOSIA H. MILLER, September 20, 1868.
2.iii.LODELIA A. EDINGTON, b. June 1855, Indiana.
iv.MARTHA ELIZABETH EDINGTON, b. January 19, 1858, Greene County, IN; d. November 15, 1942, Bedford, Lawrence County, IN (RR 5).

I am not sure where the name "Elijah" came from for Mary's husband but I know her maiden name was "Mansfield." The confusion with Mary is that she had so many husbands. Here is some of that information:

1. MARY F.2 MANSFIELD (JACOB1) was born January 11, 1831 in OH, and died January 29, 1905 in Greene County, IN. She married (1) GEORGE WASHINGTON EDINGTON November 01, 1846 in Coshocton County, OH. He was born Abt. 1824 in OH, and died Abt. 1858 in IN. She married (2) GEORGE M. JACKSON April 05, 1860 in Green County, IN. He was born Abt. 1827 in IN. She married (3) MANSFIELD CROW April 10, 1866 in Green County, IN. He was born Abt. 1829 in OH. She married (4) LEWIS PUGH May 05, 1872 in Dubois County, IN, son of AARON PUGH and FIRST WIFE. He was born Abt. 1811 in OH.

Children of MARY MANSFIELD and GEORGE EDINGTON are:
i.JOHN W.3 EDINGTON, b. Abt. 1848.
