Hi Lou don't know if this is helpful but 1870 Spencer, Harrison IN lists
Lorans Bowers 24, Martha A. 25, John W. Bowers 3, Mary 1 & Cora 1/12. 1880
Madison, Harrison, IN lists "Francis" Bowers & Martha with a number of
children. Like you I could not find George and/or Barbara. Lazarus Bowers
d 15 Sep 1926 (Douglas Mo the Gentleman you found) wife Martha d 1906
Douglas, MO.
