> I am looking for any information on a Henry Meyer. He was the son of
Caroline (Carrie) Meyer Fees. We don't have any information on his father
but believe he was illegitimate born in Bavaria Germany. He came to the
United States in 1891 or 1892 as a very young child. It is believed he came
here with his mother, grandfather (Heinrich Meyer) and his grandmother
(Caroline Lacy Meyer). They settled in Aurora, Illinois. His mother married
Michael Fees on March 24, 1892 In Aurora, Illinois (Kane County). Michael
Fees was a farmer in Oswego Illinois and had come to the U.S. in 1887 on the
Saale from Germany. I believe his parents anmes are Andrew and Fredricka
Fees. They lived in Waldeck, Germany. Michael also had 2 sisters that also
settled in Oswego, Illinois by the names of Fredricka Fees who married John
Hoch on 2/10/1891 and Minnie Fees who married Charles Miller on 09/06/1891.
On the 1900 census it show Michael (head) born 8/1858 age 43, Caroline
(wife) born 2/1862 age 39, He!
> nry (son) born 5/1889 age 11. Michael and Caroline went on to have 2 sons
named Otto (who was my great grandfather) and Alfred. They are listed on
1900 census as Otto born on Jan. 29 age 7 and Alfred born on Nov. 29 age 3.
Michael and Caroline married 8 years. I never found out what happened to
Caroline's parents. Michael and Caroline moved to Hanover Township, Illinois
with Otto and Alfred, but I am not sure of the year. Henry stayed on in
Oswego, Illinois as a farm hand. He is listed on the 1920 census as Henry
Meyer (head) age 30, Anna (wife) age 28, Caroline (daughter) age 5, Francis
(daughter) age 3, and Margaret (daughter) age 1. He is listed as a farmer.
On the 1930 census for Oswego Township, Kendall County, Illinois, image
13--Henry Meyer (head) age 40, Anna (wife) age 39, Caroline (daughter) age
14, Frances (daughter) age 12, Margaret (daughter) age 10, Ruth (daughter)
age 8, Henry (son) age 6, Betty Jane ( daughter) age 2, and Robert Donald
(son) age 1 month. Henr!

1889. He came to the United States in 1891 or 1892 settling in Aurora

His wife's name was Anna. He had daughters named Caroline, Margaret,
Frances, Ruth and Betty Jane. He also had 2 sons with the names Henry and
Robert Donald. According to the social security index, Henry moved to
Rockford Illinois, Winnebego county. He died February 1980.
> There is another Henry Meyer that died in Winnebego county in Rockford in
Sep. 1977. I am thinking this might be his son because the birth dates line
up. If you can come up with any info on either Henry I would greatly
appreciate it as I am at a dead end. Thank you. Kim Nelson
