Mr. Robert Kukla of Ashley, IL, departed this life at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO on Tuesday, March 1, 2012 at 5:51 PM. He had attained the age of 80 years, 3 months and 6 days.

Robert was born on November 26, 1931 in Chicago, IL the son of Bernard and Lucille (Kobylinski) Kukla. He was united in marriage to Ione Goerdt and she preceded him in death on April 16, 1981.

Robert worked for the Chicago Transit Authority for many years and he was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, IL.

Left to mourn his passing is fiancee', Dorothy Szatkowski of Ashley, IL; sisters, Eleanor (Thomas) Forbes of Tempe, AZ and Linda Blackstad of Chandler, AZ; brother-in-law, John Mourning of Mesa, AZ; nieces, nephews, other relations and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Lucille Mourning.

Per Robert's wishes, cremation was performed and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Campagna Funeral Home of Ashley is in charge of arrangements.
