Where was their first child born? That could help narrow the scope of your search. In 1820 Morgan County was part of Madison County. If you go to the cyberdrive website mentioned in another posting, you can check the land patents. You might be able to find the "husband" as a patentee or maybe the father of the bride. If the land was located in what was called Madison Co., it will be listed by the name of the present day county. For example, a farm in Scott Co. could have been "in" Madison, Greene, and Morgan before being "in" Scott Co. Look for the family of the bride, since few young women were here alone during that time period. Also, check the other Morgan County Illinois message board on ancestry.com. Let me know if your Richardson had family (born KY) near Franklin, IL. Many of the Richardsons living west of Jacksonville are from England. Hope this helps. Kathleen (STANFIELD) COOK at
