Just FYI there was a John Thompson who had a son R.D> Thompson who married
a Lucinda Schaffer in Cass County,Illinois which is just over the county
There is also a Richard Thompson who married a Josephine Nolden who is my
husbands great grandfather and great grandmother.
I know his fathers name was also John Thomson, but with no P.
Our Richards father John had a wife named Anna Garris, they were from the
Harrisburg,Pennsylvannia area.
Our Richard was born 1859,but his father may have come over from Germany
around 1847,have not confirmed this as of yet.
1861 Dauphin County,PA census shows two Johns, but have not seen actual
I am looking for John Thomson of Germany.
He may have left PA and moved to Illinois as well as his son Richard.
Or Richard died of dropsey the year after he married Josephine and his son
Clifford was born after Richard died.
Richard is buried in a Potters Field in Beardstown,Illinois,Cass County.
If you happen to find any other pertinent information on John
Thomson,please let me know.
The John Thompson in Morgan County may be the John you are looking for.
There is a website for these Thompsons.
Quite a bit of information on this family.
