I have Meyers in my line from Baden Germany. I Johann Michael KARR married a Anna Maria Meyers in Baden ca 1715. When my KARR family came on the PENNSYLVANIA MERCHANT from Germany, through Rotterdam to Cowles ENGLAND, to Philadelphia PA in 1731, there were Meyers with them, and on same ship with Jacob KARR in 1733.
My KARRS moved to AUGUSTA CO VA, near Petersburg ca 1750. It late became HAMPSHIRE CO 1753 & HARDY CO. 1785. Meyers were with them.
2 KARR sisters stayed in LANCASTER(BERKS)PA. Christina married Peter FEG, and Elizabeth married Johann KELLER ca 1743 & 1745 in Stouchburg. Henry KARR/CARRs wife was AnnaMAriaDorthea HAFNER.
Henrys son Martin Luther b.1772 married Elizabeth DAVIS i HARDY CO VA 1792 and moved to ROSS CO OH. 1807 in FAYETTE CO OH. Their son Reuben married Mary E. CREAMER/Cramer/Kramer/Kraemer 9-9-1830 in Jeffersonville FAYETTE OH. In 1850 They and several other related familis moved to JASPER CO IL, Crooked Creek, I am told to Rose Hill. They had as sons, Milan, married Nancy Hannah DAVISON, CHRISTIAN, killed at Andersonville Prison in GA 1864, Michael HAMilton, married Susanna TERRELL, and JAMES who married Sarah BROOKS.
Reuben also had a brother JACOB CARR, who may have been here before Reuben, as he is in 1850 census, and Reuben in 1850 in both FAYETTE & JASPER. Jacob is gone by 1860 or 70. Know nothing of his wife and children. He married in FAYETTE. He had someone named Pressley living with him in census. Not sure WHO this was.
HAM Carr had as sons, Henry Ira, married Jannette MARSHALL in KANE CO., lived North side of Chicago.
John married Lillie LeMay. Thomas & Ed were twins, James married ?. One of them married GOLDIE, who later married a Hayes/Hays. CARR & Goldie _______ had Flossie, married SHOTT, Flavie, married EVERETT, lived Charlestown, and Herbert(Pete) CARR. Pete married ?, divorced, lived in Hidalgo in old homestead land. Original house burned 1911.
Ham had daughter named either Sarah ALICE or Mary ALICE who married Charles McKee. They had 4 boys she is to have died ca 1900.
Michael HAMilton died ca 1927 in the household of MEEKER. Have NO idea who they were. He had been married 3 times after Susanne died. His youngest son, Milton HARRIson was my grandfather. He lived with Henry in Chicago until he married. Then he lived ca Jackson & 215 Troy, across from big church. He married Mary NOLAN.
Ham also had 6 daughters who married in JASPER to
HUTSON, SOWER, REISNER, VANETTEA, KIBLER, and ?.
