Subject: [ILHENRY-L] any help at all
Date: Sat, 29 Aug 1998 13:02:17 EDT
Hi,
I've been on the mailing list for a little while and it seems like there are
alot of fabulous people willing to help out there. I hope someone can help
me.
I am researching the following surnames: DeLeon, Nelson, Knees, Kramer,
Wiemer, Rueth, and Semerau. I have a pretty good start on all except for the
DeLeon. My grandfather's grandfather, John (I think it is middle initial C)
DeLeon abandoned his wife Minnie Wiemer and her children sometime in the late
1800's(probably after 1890)
They had one child for certain, Glenn Forrest DeLeon--my great grandfather,
but we have some conflicting info that there might have been up to 2 other
children. It is possible that these children died in infancy. Anyway, after
John left he was essentially erased from all our family records (baby albums,
photos, etc) so my living relatives no little or nothing about him. The only
semi solid info we have is that they lived in Geneseo. My mother was able to
go to Illinois for a couple of days to research, but was unable to find
marriage records, this is also when she found some of the conflicting info
regarding their children.
Thank you for reading this small mystery novel and if anyone has any info or
possible info on any of the names I would be so grateful (or even suggestions
on other good places to check for information)
