Seeking MCGUIRE family information. Family came from Pa. about 1860. Possibly a stop in Ohio first. May have been acquiring bounty lands. JACOB MCGUIRE and his wife, JANE, were both born in Pa., as were four of their children. Other MCGUIRES who moved to Illinois at same time are Jacob's parents, PENDERGAST and SARAH and brothers, PENDERGAST and DANIEL and their families. JACOB and his family appear in 1860 census in Rock Island County. PENDERGAST (senior) and family in Pt. Byron. Federal census for 1870 and 1880 show JACOB MCGUIRES in Kewanee. In 1900, then in their 70s, can be found in Woming, Stark County and then disappear. Think either Jacob or Jane or both moved in with adult children, possibly in Henry or Stark counties. One son, JAMES PENDERGAST MCGUIRE, b. 1847, who is believed to have been drummer boy in Civil War and married MARY J. COLLINS, also of Illinois. Mary J. and brother, ALEXANDER COLLINS, both died in Colorado in 1883. Other children of !
cob and Jane were CORDELIA (unk
own if married); SARAH, who married GEORGE DANIELS; RACHEL (unknown if married) , MARY AGNES, who married GEORGE ZINN.
