I've enjoyed reading and seeing the many rare photos of men who were prominent in the Blackhawk War, including John Onstott of Clay Co., Daniel Powell of Hamilton County, Champion S. Mading, Nathaniel Boone (son of Daniel), James Craig (son-in-law of Daniel Boone), Achilles Coffey, and many others whose names I recognized but had never seen photos of them before.
The book can be downloaded as a pdf file from google books, online. There is an index of illustrations in the front which is several pages long. Go to google books (through google) and enter Blackhawk War by Frank Stevens.
