Look what can be found via the internet when trying to locate GARs in

Olney was the veteran's city and Richland is the veteran's county in which
a GAR has/had records...Those records are still in existance!

Hello neighbor, my relative Lt. A.E. Goble served in the 38th Il. Infantry,
Mustered out of Newton, IL. 8-19-1861, My grandmother worked in the
Richland County Courthouse there for 44 years, and found a lot of documents
on my ancestors there, Also I found another place to start looking for
Ancestry of other people in his regiment was on this web site.

state sites listed where you can request documents from the state. I hope
