Checking the atlas of the US find there are two Iowa counties and one
Indiana county but no Illinois County in any state.

I would consider the source... I can find no evidence of an Illinois
County, VA. I'm not saying there wasn't one, just that I would require
proof of a more substantial nature. You can find so much misinformation on
the web.

The Illinois Indians were in the Mississippi Valley and the state's name
did come from them.

Va [WV] IS 6 MILES wide at Weirton,WV Ohio>Va[WV]>Pa. eastern Ohio was
Illinois Co,Va about 1782.Same time as Kentucky Co,Va
