Let me take the time to list some of the Jones County sources we have in our
Jones County Genealogical Library in Anamosa, IA.

Marriage books from 1840 through 1898
WPA Cemetery Book (canvassing done in 1930's)
1925 state census - alphabetized
Card index of individuals interested in Jones County surnames (Alphabetized
by surname)
Scrapbooks of obituaries (some are alphabetized)
Morley Centennial Book (indexed and containing much genealogy)
Jones County genealogies (shelved by surnames in titles -most have indexes)
Census on microfilm - State and Federal - 1840 thru 1925
1879 and 1910 Jones County Histories (Every name index)

Let me explain the 1925 state census. It lists everyone alive in Jones
County in 1925. It includes each person's parents (mother's maiden name).
It tells if the parents are alive (gives age). It tells the parents birth
state/country and where the parents were married.

If you cannot find the individual you are looking for -- perhaps their
siblings are listed?????

Now Marriage License #2713 on page 488 for Book E says:
Thomas Moran b Temple Hill married Katie Mulvehill b Temple Hill on 1/9/1890
in Temple Hill.
His parents: James Moran and Mary Madden
Her parents: Patrick Mulvehill and Ann Curley

I found nothing on BOWLING OR HARDIN.

Ann Curley was still alive in 1925. She is not listed as Ann Mulvehill in
Jones County. She may be living in another county or she may have remarried.
She was 85 years old. She was born in Iowa and married in IA.

All marriage books are for sale.
The 1925 census is for sale.

If your surname is written up in one of the histories (as was Mr. Brazelton),
you could get lots of information.

There is a Thomas Moran d 2/6/1899 age 91 Temple Hill Cem. Possible but he
is very old. No Mary Moran is listed in the cemetery book.
