Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Growing up my family has always known my grandmother as Patricia King. I finally was able to get a copy of my father's b/c and it says Patricia Tillie age 24(circa 1918) in Nov of 1942 from Boone Ia. I know there was Tillies in Boone around that time, but none with the names of Patricia. We know she moved to Chicago circa 1935 where she married(believed, no record located) my Grandfather Charles Ronald Jedrzejas(1912-1960). They had 4 children(1 stillborn, then my aunt Sharon, my father, then my Uncle Al). In the Chicago Tribune in 1944 was an article for her under the name Patricia Jedrzejas for buglary to her neighbors house for $25 dollars worth of goods that she said she was going to use for my grandfather's birthday party. In the article it states that she was 28(which would put her birth as 1916 instead of 1918 like my father's b/c states). After that my father saw her only once in 1956 when he went to a jail and watched my gra!
ndfather and great uncle talk to a woman through the fence. My father was advised at that time that was his mother. I have contacted the only female jail in Illinois in the 1940's - 1950's to see if they have anything on her, no answer yet. We do not know if she died, when she died, or where she died. We know nothing prior to my father's birth and after 1956 on her. I have also contacted Linwood Cemetary in Boone IA and they have no record of a King or Pillie(at the time I sent the message, my father stated to me it was Pillie, not Tillie. Old men and phones.... phew!)
