Subject: Jonathan May and Olive A. Parks

I am the eldest ggranddaughter of Jonathan May and Olive A. Parks. Am
looking for information about their early life. I know that he was brought
to America from England when he was about 3 yrs. old (about 1881). I also
know that he was Mayor of Frasier, Iowa about 1923 (I believe). But I don't
have exact dates and I have no valid information on his family. I also know
that he was married to Olive A. Parks. I am also looking for information
about Olive. Jonathan died in July 1962 and Olive died in 1971. I also
remember that they lost their home in the floods of 1954 in the Frasier area
and that is what prompted them to move into Boone.

My mother used to have a black and white picture of a home sitting in the
flood waters, and it seems that picture was also published in the Boone
paper that year. My belief is that picture was of their home, but I am not
positive. I can't locate that picture anymore. I did have a daily
publication of the Boone News Republican from this spring that carried a
short history of the town of Frasier. But unfortunately I have misplaced it
too. And THAT article was the FIRST and only information that gave me any
glimpse of my ggrandfather's life. Until that publication, I had no idea
that he had been Mayor of Frasier.

If anyone has any information about Jonathan May and/or Olive A. Parks May,
I would appreciate hearing from you.
