Joy A. Beamer
Joy A. (Hupp) Beamer, 81, of Uhrichsville, O., formerly of Stillwater, O., died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at 11:27 p.m. in Union Hospital at Dover, O., following a brief illness. Born Aug. 28, 1924, near New Philadelphia, O., she was a daughter of the late George David Hupp Sr. and Annabelle (Ritenour) Hupp.
A lifelong resident of the area, Joy owned and operated her own beauty shop until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Park Grange, A.A.R.P. and the Twin City Senior Citizens.
On Sept. 7, 1941, she married Lawrence R. Beamer who preceded her in death on May 9, 1992. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Brady, George D. Jr., Charles and Norman Hupp; and three sisters, Vesta Anderson, Mary Beamer and Harriett "Peggie" Morrison.
Joy's surviving family includes three daughters, Lynda J. Beamer of Stafford, Va., Mrs. Carl (Peggie L.) Cervellini of Columbus and Mrs. James (Denna D.) Walts of Center Hill, Fla.; a son, Curtis R. Beamer of Uhrichsville; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; three brothers, John V. "Jack" Hupp and wife Ann of Roswell, Donald G. Hupp Sr. and wife Marilyn of New Philadelphia and Lynn R. "Bobby" Hupp and wife Mary Ellen of Chicora, Pa.; sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Nancy) Lawver of New Philadelphia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Joy, officiated by Pastor Dave Koch, will be held on Friday, June 30, 2006, at 1 p.m. in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home where visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening (today). Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Carroll County. Joy's family suggests that charitable contributions in her memory may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Stillwater.
