Subject: Do you use SpamCop? A warning
Date: Tue, 21 Mar 2006 19:36:51 -0800 (PST)
Hi folks, I read about this on another rootsweb list, so I wanted to forward this to the lists.
All,
I'm posting this because someone in the group has marked previous list messages as spam. SpamCop has blacklisted the mail servers from Rootsweb and it is bouncing all of the messages to users that use SpamCop. This is causing many people to be missing their messages.
It is *very* important that you do not mark Rootsweb messages as spam. This effects all of the other users on the list server, not just our lists. If you do not want to receive messages from the lists, please *Unsubscribe* instead of deleting the messages as spam.
To unsubscribe from a list, send a message with the word "unsubscribe" (minus the quotes) in the subject and body to [listname]- (or if you are subscribed to the digest mode, used -D- instead of -L-).
SpamCop will continue to ban our messages for another 18 hours. This has been going on for over a day already. Each time they receive a spam complaint, it extends the length that we are banned. *PLEASE* take the time to sort your mail properly so that Rootsweb won't get banned.
If you have any questions on this, please let
Thanks folks!
