Subject: Call for census information

Hi all. It's your friendly list monitor :). As some of you may know, I will
be graduating in May with my MA in public history. Once I've graduated, as of
right now, I have no job and LOTS of free time the last 1/2 of May. Of course
that could change, but I was looking at the website (in my signature) today and
the different areas I need to work on. The winners: KERN and HUBB/HUPP!
There is hardly anything on those two sections and I don't have anything more
to add since I'm at a brick wall with both of those lines. As I've said on the
main webpage, your submissions help this site grow. I can only put up so much
information on my own. What I would like to do for now is concentrate on
putting up census info. I know most of us have census information lying
around, but nothing has been submitted for Kern and only one person has
submitted anything for Hupp/Hubb. Within the next few weeks, I am asking for
everyone to gather their census information for these 2 surnames and send them
to me or the list. As I'm sure we're all well aware of, there are folks out
there looking for information like that who don't have access to the actual
microfilm and can't afford to search with ancestry, etc. and USGenWeb doesn't
have it up yet (isn't that soo frustrating!?!?) We can help everyone out by
submitting what we have and in the process we might find new cousins. When you
submit information, by default I cite you as the source of information. If you
don't want to be cited, just let me know, but realize if someone connects to
info your submit and you don't want to be cited, you may never know, but at the
same time if you are cited as the source, you may notice a higher frequency of
spam as that is how spammers get your addresses is through links like that. At
any rate, please get that census info to the lists or me and then in mid-May, I
will get that onto the webpage! Oh, by the way, some of you may be like me
when I first started, you know someone is in the census on page XXX for XXXX
twp, XXXX Co., XX state, but don't have access to the information itself, if
that is the case, send me an email I can try and find it for you, I do have
quite a few sources for access to census, I just don't have the time to look up
all Kern or all Hupp, etc. Thanks all and good luck!
