His wife was Hannah Vansickles, b. 3 May 1795, Washington Co., Penna., d. 30 July 1854, Washington twp., Warren Co., Ohio.

Hannah Vansickles and Michael Hupp were married in Oct. 1814, Washington Co., Penna. They were briefly in Columbiana Co., Ohio before settling permanently in Warren Co., Ohio in 1816. A letter in the pension file of Michael Hupp (War of 1812), which is the only source of Hannah's maiden name, spells it Vansickles.

They are buried in Union Church Cem., Warren Co., Ohio; inscription on gravestones:
- Michael Hupp, d. 17 Sep 1874, age 87y 10m 13d
- Hannah (Vansickles) Hupp, d. 30 July 1854, age 59y 2m 27d

The children of Hannah (Vansickles) Hupp and Michael Hupp are: Harriet c1815; Margaret 3 June 1819, Joseph c1820, Samuel 1821, Lucetta 1825/26, Mary A. c1828, James 15 Jan. 1831, and Henry Hupp c1836.

Of these children of Michael and Hannah (Vansickles) Hupp:

- Harriet Hupp became the 3rd wife (of 4) of Henry Stites (1792-1875). While residing in Defiance Co., Ohio, they had 5 children: William Michael, Angeline, Samuel, Milton W., and Harvey Stites. After Harriet's death, the Stites family moved to Grand Traverse Co., Michigan.

- Margaret and Samuel, by 1860, had moved to Shelby Co., Indiana, where they are neighbors (Margaret Hupp is married to Daniel Kelsay). Samuel's children were Mary, Henry, Eliza, Emma, Celia, George, and Jennett Hupp, all born in Ohio. Margaret (Hupp) Kelsays' children (who lived) were: Newton, Harlen, Harvey, Hannah and Lucetta Kelsay.

- Joseph Hupp seems to disappear from the census records by 1860, where his dau. Eliza, age 10, is in the home of John & Margaret Starkey, ages 64/60, NJ/Va., in Warren Co., Ohio. Joseph Hupp's wife (also named Eliza) may have been a sister to either John or Margaret Starkey.

- Lucetta and Mary Hupp, remained in Warren Co., Ohio; on the 1880 census, Mary A. Hupp, age 45, is living in the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Lucetta and Eben S. Osborn, ages 50 & 58 (they had a son, Samuel E. Osborn).

- James Hupp died on 7 May 1853, unmarried, and is buried near his parents in Union Church Cem., Warren Co., Ohio.

- Henry Hupp married Martha E. Lewis; on the 1860 census, Warren Co., Ohio, Henry (married, with one dau., Marietta, age 3) is living next door to his father, Michael Hupp and sisters Lucetta and Mary. On the 1880 census, Wells Co., Indiana, Martha, 42, is widowed with two children.
