Died of wounds received in action Oct 8 and Sept 1, 1864.
Jonesboro, GA.
Regiment was in action at Chaplin Hills, Oct 8, 1864 and a Jonesboro, GASept 1, 1864. This company was subsequently transfered to the 21stWisconsin Volunteers.
John Hupp, Private Co D 1" Wis. Vols. received a flesh wound of Right thigh in action near Altanta, GA. That he was admitted to Hospital of 1"Div. 14" A.C. date of admission not stated, with fracture of right thigh received Sept 1, 1864 and died Sept. 8, 1864 of Gunshot wound Right Thigh.
