My great-grandmother, Margaret Hupp was born in or near Wheeling WV on 9 Mar 1842. She married Conrad Hartmann, about 1865. They lived in Noble County, Ohio, and had eight children. Conrad died in 1878 when the youngest child, my grandmother, was six weeks old. Margaret never remarried and raised the kids by herself. I found the family on the Noble County 1880 census transcription that is on FamilySearch.org, on page 86D. Nearby were several other Hupp and Hartmann families. One household consisted of another Margaret Hupp, widow, age 67, living alone. I believe this was my great-great-grandmother, Margaret's mother. Any information about these families would be appreciated. I have some information about descendants of Margaret Hupp to share.
