Subject: [HUPP] Traveling to Germany

I'm totally new to genealogy and this may seem like a really stupid
question but I would like to know what part of Germany my father's
family came from. My grandfather's name was Calvin and the only other
things I know are that his wife's name was Harriet. He lived in Wells
county, IN most or all of his life. He was most likely born in the late
1860's or early 1870's. Someone told me that a Hupp may have been an
very early settler to this area of Indiana so I think the immigration
for Germany has not been recent. Has anyone researched this part of the
Hupp family? I will be living in Germany for seven weeks and it might
be fun to visit a city that the Hupp family came from.
