I should have proofed one more time! Samuel was not born
1752, VA, as his father had not even arrived at that time.
Here is what it should have said.

Johann Gaspar (or variation) HOPFF/HUPP, came to America in
1753 on the ship Eastern Branch, landing in Philadelphia. I
am descended from his son, Samuel, born 1772 VA. Does anyone
have information on this family? I have a lot of information
on descendants and will be happy to share.
