Hello,
I have been looking for years and years (not a new story to
genealogists) for the parents of BARBARA ANN HUNTER bc1772. She
was very proud of passing out milk among the Revolutionary Soldiers
but we cannot find where she ever wrote her parents' names. In the
1850 census she is listed as living with her husband ROBERT GILMER
and Catherine Hunter who could be a sister or sister-in-law. BARBARA
married ROBERT in January of 1800 (which leads me to believe that she
may have been married previously). Her father might have been GEORGE
HUNTER, but that is a guess.
ROBERT GILMER came to PA prior to 1800 carrying a letter of intro-
duction from Rev. JAMES HUNTER, who seemed to have known ROBERT very
well.
If you have any information about HUNTERS in Chester or Lancaster
Co., PA, or Northern Ireland, please send email to <>.
