Don't give up. You still may find a marriage record if you know the county they married in. Unless of course the court house was burned. Again, have you uploaded your tree to ancestry. Some people are reluctant to do this. But you can privatize it for the living generations. But Samuel Hughes and his wife are probably not still living. When your information is there not only is it a great help in searching for records but it lets other people find you. Also even if you don't find something this year you'll probably find a batch togather in a year or two. If your tree is uploaded go to the side of the page for Samuel Castle Hughes where it says search Historical Records. Because even if it didn't bring anything up at the top of the page you will find a good bit there. And when you send a message to the message board don't just list his name list his wife's last name also. Someone may have information that way too.
