Here is some information on the Howey line that Marijane is searching for.
Its not much, but is a start. Go to:

and search for Howey.
There is an Amos, Bessey and Iola Howey. The Amos would be the right age for
the Amos she has listed as a 12 year old in the 1860 Federal census.
