My surname is Hemingway but I know I am descended from Ralph Hemenway of Roxbury, MA because my brother participated in the DNA study of the Hemingway One Name Study from England.
My block is at Jedediah Hemenway/Hemingway b 03 Aug 1783 USA who first married Mary E. ? and had five sons.
I don't understand why I cannot find Jedediah anywhere before he moved, with Mary to Sorel, Quebec in 1816. The first time he shows on any records anywhere is 1816. I have him stating his birthdate on his baptism and second marriage record in Sorel, Quebec in 1819.
ANY information would be greatly appreciated.
