I found these two links for Joseph and Mary Hedges, documenting their
deaths. They are in Newburgh, a suburb of Evansville, Indiana. Mary is shown
being buried at Rose Hill. One may suspect Joseph was buried there too.
Anyway, the first link describes the arraignment of data on the two
individual links for Joseph and Mary. His birthday may be much earlier by
about another 6 years, so I would surmise he was born in mid 1850's.

There are several existing Hedges current living in that area now. Whom are
the children remains an open question, but there are some names of those who
were born in that area in a logical time frame.

Joseph Hedges married Mary Elizabeth (Andrews) McIntyre. Mary was the dau.
of George and Hannah (Boyd) Andrew according to her death certificate. Both
parents born in England. Mary was first married to Thomas J. McIntyre in
1870 in Vanderburgh Co. Indiana. Apparently they were childless when he died
in 1872. Mary then married Joseph S. Hedges at Evansville, Indiana, in 1880.
Much of my information comes from Thomas J. McIntyre's Civil War pension
file. I'm trying to learn more about Thomas and would appreciate help. J.
