Dear Sue Hedges,

I have tried looking every possible place for my Hedges ancestors and cannot get anywhere. Could you please, please help me?

My Great Great Grandfather was Alfred Hedges who married Matilda Matthews at St Nicholas Church, Guildford on 23 Mar 1901. They appear together in the 1901 census at 1 Cherryfield Terrace, Woking, Surrey giving his occupation as General Hawker.

I believe his parents were living nearby in a Caravan at Browns Yard, Poole Road, Woking, Surrey, England as they appear in the census as Alfred Hedges b1855 Betsey Hedges b1856 with their children Georgie b1895, Esther b1896, Jobie b1898 and another married son, Harry b 1881 with his wife Eliza also giving an occupation of General Hawker.

However, I simply cannot find any of them on an earlier census, nor any other marriages. Have you found anything in your research that may point me in the right direction? I would be extremely grateful for any help at all.
