Truman HAVENS was my GG grandfather. I knew nothing of him beyond his
residence in Conneaut, OH during the mid 1800's until recently. I have
learned that
** He appears in the 1820 census for Essex County, NY, for 1820 with
his surname spelled HAVINS. I have not yet seen the microfilm for this
census.
** He appears in Cattaraugus County, NY purchasing land in 1823.
** He appears in the same county in the 1830 census with 6 household
members.
** He appears in the 1840 census for Springfield Twp., Erie County, PA
with nine household members.
** He appears in the 1850 census for Conneaut, Ashtabula Co., OH with
three household members. He stated his age as 54 (birth in 1796/7),
born in NY.
** His wife was Orilla Fisher, who I recently learned grew up in
Clinton and Essex Counties, NY. Abijah Fisher, her father, married
Olive Culver. Her pedigree goes back many generations. They had seven
children, among them Orilla (who married Truman Havens) and Francis B.
Fisher, who married Drusilla HAVENS on 16 Oct 1817 in Essex Co., NY.
Her birthdate was 4 Jul 1798; death 26 Apr 1875; burial Methodist Cem.,
Sciota, Clinton, NY. They had ten children.

I don't know whether Truman and Drusilla were related, but they were
close in age and married siblings. If anyone has information about
either or both of these HAVENS please let me know.
